Dig Deeper – Draw Nearer – Grow Fonder

Bio

Hello. I’m so glad you’re here!

You already know I’m a writer, but I’m also just an average guy. Well, not entirely.

How I’m average:

  • Coffee by day, tea by night – no sugar
  • Married with kids and grands (some with fur)
  • Super welcoming to dogs
  • DIY first
  • Active but rather watch TV (yep, I’ll admit it!)

How I’m not:

  • Hockey player who can’t converse about the pros
  • Satisfied hydrogen car driver despite the challenging fuel infrastructure
  • Fan who watched every live action Star Wars movie in theaters
(12 so far, which is also the number of colleges and universities I’ve attended)
  • Remarkable singer alone in the car (you wouldn’t believe my vocal and dynamic range 😂)
  • Jesus lover and churchgoer

I also enjoy teaching biblical truth both in person and in writing. (These days, mostly in writing.) I had the privilege of leading a Bible study at my workplace for over 15 years. What a blessing it was to spend time in God’s Word with work colleagues each week. Our group was diverse in many ways: role in the workforce, job and economic situation, marital status, physical age, spiritual age, religious background, church denomination, etc. One of the most important lessons from that experience is that what I know intellectually is not as important as how the Holy Spirit directs me to lead discussions. And here’s an important truth for leaders:

God’s Word should be central to every study.
It is the unquestionable and authoritative source of truth,
and it is reliable to stir and improve the hearts of
those who seek Him with humility.
Bible studies are God’s studies and
good leaders allow God to teach through the Holy Spirit.

Thank you for visiting. Explore my blog. Every post is based on the truth of God’s Holy Word, the Bible.

Consider my books. Two Bible study series are available and I’m working on other genres in Christian nonfiction.
